ANNOUNCEMENTS
THE SESSION HAS CALLED A SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING for this morning, Sunday, September 7, at the conclusion of the morning worship service (or at approximately 11am) in the sanctuary of PCUM. The agenda is as follows:
· Hear a report of the Congregational Nominating Committee and vote on its nominees to fill the office of one person to become an Auditor and one person to complete an unexpired term of an Elder who resigned. The term of service of this elder will be from September 2008 through May, 2009.
· To Discuss and Vote on a Resolution entitled: An Amendment to the Declaration of Trust Creating the Memorial/Endowment Fund (The "Trust") of the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair (PCUM" or "The Church").
· To Discuss and Vote on a Resolution entitled: Approval of an Appropriation of up to $730,000 From the Memorial/Endowment Fund to Finance the Completion of the Roof and North Wing Construction Projects.
The details of the two Resolutions were mailed out to the homes of every active church member of PCUM on August 20th. Extra copies are available in Fellowship Hall.
ON COMMUNION SUNDAYS we take a special offering for the Deacons Fund which makes many acts of kindness possible for people in our congregation and community. Your support of these projects is appreciated. Envelopes are available in the pew racks.
A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE for those who died on 9/11, will be held at 7pm on Thursday, September 11th, in the Memorial Garden. All are welcome.
JOIN THE FUN AT RALLY DAY: Join us on the church lawn after worship on Sunday, September 14th, for a celebration PCUM style! Food, fun and fellowship for the whole family with lots of activities for the children. Informational booths will be set up for you to stop by and sign up for programs PCUM will offer this fall. Invite a friend or neighbor to come and learn about the ministry and fellowship of PCUM!
CHILDREN’S CHOIRS will begin rehearsing on Sunday, September 21st, after worship in the sanctuary.
