PASTOR NOMINATING COMMITTEE (PNC)
In June 2006, the thirteen-member Pastor Nominating Committee was elected by the congregation with the charge to find a new Pastor for PCUM. The PNC engaged in a Mission Study of PCUM's strengths, challenges and ideas for our future. The Mission Study was informed by the Congregational Survey undertaken by the Future Committee, focus group meetings with members of the congregation, discussions with the staff of PCUM, biweekly meetings of the PNC, and input from the Session. The Mission Study was completed in December 2006. With the Mission Study as the foundation, the PNC then drafted the Church Information Form (CIF), the standard document required by the Presbyterian Church (USA) to announce our need and requirements for a new pastor. The CIF was approved by Session and the Presbytery Committee on Ministry in January 2007. It was then posted online with the PC(USA).
The PNC is currently reviewing Pastor Information Forms (PIFs) received through the matching process and self-referral. While this is the confidential stage of our work, we will keep you up to date on any developments. This is a very exciting time!
Please continue to pray for discernment and the candidate God is preparing us to call.
UPDATE: The PNC is still seeking qualified candidates for our head pastor position. To submit a PIF for our consideration, please email it to Rick Jenkins at jenkgolfer@comcast.net.
